How customer feedback and a culture of ingenuity fuel continuous improvement at TouchSource
At TouchSource, innovation doesn’t happen in isolation—it’s sparked by our customers. Every refinement, feature upgrade, and new idea on our roadmap comes from listening to the people who use our solutions every day. Our latest product roadmap session highlighted how deeply that partnership drives our evolution across software features and user experience.
Innovations in Platform and User Experience
The Development team continues to refine the TouchSource Spark PX™ platform, delivering faster, more intuitive digital directory experiences. Key updates include:
- Smarter search and navigation: Improved directory search logic, prioritized search fields, and enhanced QR code readability—especially for 4K displays in high-traffic retail and mixed-use environments.
- Online directory and wayfinding overhaul: A complete code refactor improves speed, reliability, and agility for future enhancements. This update includes the ability to access specific directions to and from any location by changing or swapping the starting and ending point on your mobile device. We’ve also added ADA refinements and new icons (such as stroller symbols) to make the experience more accessible for all visitors.
- Pagination for large deployments: A new navigation feature lets users browse extensive tenant or court docket lists in manageable batches–a major win for clients like King County with broad facility portfolios.
Each enhancement tackles real-world usability challenges, helping customers deliver smoother, faster, and more inclusive on-site interactions.

Business Value and Competitive Differentiation
The upgraded Spark PX Dashboard is rolling out with a faster, more responsive interface and granular user permissions. Admins can now assign and restrict content access by Account Library folder or specific Slideshow, simplifying workflows and reducing their own efforts and time–especially for enterprise clients managing multiple properties or teams.
TouchSource’s ongoing third-party API integrations (like Placewise and Pylot for retail event and store data) ensure content stays current and accurate. This commitment to reliability and support continues to set Spark PX apart from fragmented “DIY” solutions that require manual oversight or multiple vendors.
Next-Level Flexibility: Visual Content Loop Plus
One of the most anticipated advancements is Visual Content Loop Plus (VCL+)—a next-generation tool within Spark PX for managing on-screen content.
With VCL+, customers can:
- Build, schedule, and assign custom Content Loops across multiple screens or locations.
- Blend the contents of multiple Slide Decks, managed by multiple contributors, while maintaining the precise balance of content required for their organizations.
- Drag and drop slides into any order.
- Add backfill content to maintain visual flow.
- Preview future playlists for upcoming campaigns.
This gives marketing and property teams precise control over their messaging—whether managing advertising, tenant communications, or infotainment—without waiting on support tickets. For retail, healthcare, and enterprise portfolios, it’s a major leap in autonomy and speed. With Visual Content Loop Plus (VCL+), teams can manage both corporate campaigns and local promotions from a single dashboard, ensuring the right mix of marketing, tenant, and advertising content reaches each audience.
Built using a Most Valuable Product (MVP) approach, VCL+ launches with strong core functionality and will continue to evolve based on real-world use and customer feedback.
Empowering Brand Consistency and Creative Flexibility
TouchSource continues to expand the creative control available within Spark PX, giving marketing and property teams more ways to express their brand identity across every screen.
Recent updates include enhanced internal color and font controls, and layout flexibility that help ensure every deployment looks and feels like the client’s brand—without custom coding or lengthy design cycles. These tools make it simple for corporate marketing teams to set standards while allowing local properties to personalize content within approved brand parameters.
A Customer-Driven Roadmap
Innovation only matters when it solves real problems. That’s why TouchSource works closely with customers, customer success managers and our sales reps to gather business needs, use cases and ideas. Leadership reviews will prioritize features that deliver the highest impact across our client base, ensuring transparency and alignment between the roadmap and customer needs.
Looking Ahead
Customer requirements continue to evolve as fast as the environments they manage. TouchSource has already set the bar for ADA-compliant design and accessibility (see our ADA-focused blogs on TouchSource.com), and we’re building on that foundation as public policies, visitor expectations, and digital experiences advance.
Our roadmap expands on already-robust capabilities—like simplified wayfinding for healthcare and retail environments, and features that reduce perceived wait times while enhancing visitor satisfaction. These improvements reflect how we continue to elevate the visitor journey, streamline management for property teams, and create smarter, more engaging spaces.
That’s why we’re investing in the next wave of tools and platform enhancements that help us deliver this value faster and more easily—ensuring that Spark PX evolves in step with how people move through and experience the places they visit every day.
