End of Support for Microsoft Windows 10 & Impacts for TouchSource Customers
PRODUCT NOTIFICATION
What’s Happening?
Microsoft announced that it is ending support for Windows 10 after October 14, 2025. This announcement affects every technology company and consumer utilizing Microsoft Windows 10 Operating Systems. Customers on our TouchSource Spark PX™ are unaffected. TouchSource customers on our previous digital signage platform have media players with an enterprise version of Windows 10 that isn’t affected yet. But you should budget for an upgrade to Spark PX starting next year.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Not Impacted:
- TouchSource Spark PX Platform clients are not impacted. We use Linux as our operating system on our Spark PX platform. Learn more about the platform.
- TouchSource Express clients are covered under warranty in the case that you need a new media player in the future.
- Clients with extended warranty coverage should contact us during your period of warranty coverage so we can review your media player.
- Plan Ahead to Upgrade:
- Clients with Windows 10 LTSB 2016 will want to plan for a media player upgrade in 2026. We’ll contact you with information you can use for budgeting. Visit this Landing Page to enter your name, property information. We’ll call you to review your system and an upgrade approach
- Advice: If your unit is more than 7-10 years old, we recommend that you budget for a new unit. New units automatically come with new TouchSource Spark PX software platforms and media players. It’s a smarter choice to update your aging system, than to replace one component only to risk the need for a full digital display replacement shortly after.
Alternatively, you can buy TouchSource Express which delivers our latest software platform on a perpetually-warrantied media player.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What’s happening with Windows 10?
Microsoft announced that it is ending support for Windows 10 after October 14, 2025. This affects all technology products and companies that have used Windows 10 as an operating system in their solutions.
Q: Do any of the products I purchased from TouchSource run Windows 10?
Some products sold by TouchSource run on enterprise versions of Windows 10. Windows 10 LTSB and Windows 10 LTSC will continue to be supported until October of 2026 (or later). Our customer on Windows 10 LTSB and LTSC will want to plan ahead for media player upgrades.
Q: What are the actual EOS dates for these versions of Windows 10 LTSB and LTSC?
- Windows 10 LTSB 2016: October 13th, 2026
- Windows 10 LTSC 2019: January 9th, 2029
- Windows 10 LTSC 2021: January 13th, 2032
Q: What does “End of Support (EOS)” mean and why should I care?
End of Support (EOS) means that Microsoft will no longer issue fixes for security vulnerabilities, perform any software updates or offer technical assistance for Windows 10. Although PCs running Windows 10 will still work, over time, they will become more vulnerable to security threats. Some TouchSource media players run using Windows 10 LTSB and LTSC. We encourage customers to upgrade to our Linux-based TouchSource Spark PX platform in the next year.
Q: Will Windows 10 continue to function past the EOS date?
Yes, but new features, bug fixes and tech support for Windows 10 will no longer be available from Microsoft.
Q: What do I need to do right now?
Budget for a replacement media player, according to your Microsoft OS version. Contact us to find which version you’re on and a budgetary quote estimate for 2026.
Q: Can’t you just upgrade my hardware to Windows 11?
Unfortunately, no. Microsoft does not offer an upgrade path from Windows 10 LTSB/LTSC to Windows 11.
Q: Is there anything I can do now to prepare for the eventual End of Support for the version of Windows 10 running on my TouchSource platform?
